Carnoustie – matchday preview

This weekend Scone welcome Carnoustie to Farquharson park for the last of the Section B games in the Thorntons Property League Cup. After this game, all sides will have played each other twice (home & away) with the winner of the group qualifying for the next Section. With both of these sides having beaten Arbroath Vics home & away and Carnoustie having beaten Scone 1-0 in the first of these two games, Scone now know what they need to do to qualify. A Scone win will see them tie with Carnoustie on points at which point goal difference will be the deciding factor, with this in mind Scone will need to beat Carnoustie by 3 goals to progress through to the next section. With one eye still firmly on the League campaign, manager Derek Lawson will enjoy the challenge of a Super League Cup tie while still keeping his squad fit & ready for the League with Scone now only having 8 games left to play, however with no players currently suspended or injured the Jaggies will be looking to make this as competitive a game as possible. Kick off is at 2pm and for those unable to make the game, coverage will be on our sister twitter account @jaggieslive and on the website available here from 1.45pm and we hope to bring you a match report & photo’s from the game over the coming days.

With a number of sides also playing today in the League Cup there are only 3 games in the Premier League North which are:

Dundee Violet v Forfar Albion

East Craigie v Coupar Angus and

Arbroath Vics v Luncarty
