Forfar Albion – matchday preview

This weekend Scone travel to Guthrie Park in a break from League action and the 2nd Round of the DJ Laing East Region Cup. Although the league positions might suggest an away win, Forfar Albion last week were only narrowly defeated by League leaders Dundee North End. Scone can afford to take nothing for granted in today’s match a fact emphasised by Scone manager Derek Lawson who told Jaggy News  “I am looking forward to what will be a hard game against a much improved Forfar Albion side and we will have to be at our best to win the game”. Scone will be without Fraser MacDonald & Kevin Sinclair but will be able to welcome back long term absentee Arran McKay from injury while Martin Strachan remains doubtful. For those unable to attend today’s game, coverage will be on our sister twitter account @jaggieslive and on the website available here from 2.15pm and we hope to bring you a match report & photo’s from the game over the next few days. Highlights from the League game between these 2 sides on the opening game of the season are available here. The winners of today’s tie will be at home in the 3rd Round against the winners of Kinnoull & Brechin Vics.

There are 2 games in the Premier League North today with Blairgowrie at home to Arbroath Vics while Coupar Angus host Brechin Vics. Next week will see the Jaggies play their first League game at Farquharson Park of this campaign when we welcome Brechin Vics for the slightly earlier 2pm kick off. A reminder that season tickets are still available to cover all of the League home games this season and we also have a hospitality package available in conjunction with the Wheel Inn, Scone.
