Jaggies News: EOS Review

Last weekend saw Scone hold their End of season awards night which saw Willie Laing pick up the Coaching Staff Award, Craig Mitchell win the Player & Players Player of the Year & Derek Adam voted Clubman of the Year. Top goal scorer was Sean Whitworth with 16 League & Cup goals closely followed by Darren Gray (12) & Aaron Carlon & Kev Sinclair (11). Congratulations to all of our winners on the night and many thanks to all of those that came along.

Highlights of the season saw Scone win an impressive 9 League games in a row in a spell that saw them go 12 games unbeaten, top the League twice as well as progressing to a quarter final tie v Broughty Athletic in the DJ Laing East Region Cup (who went on to win the competition). The final League table saw Kinnoull deducted points for a registration error which culminated in Scone finishing 3rd and promoted to the Super League North for the 2019/20 campaign. We now prepare for the forthcoming season with manager Derek Lawson & will bring you any news of signings over the summer break. The action gets underway on August 3rd away to Carnoustie Panmure before a midweek game v Luncarty on 7th in Scone. We also have a number of friendly games in July as the squad look to get back to match fitness.

Many thanks to all of our sponsors for their support over the last season & after the success of last years raffle which gave all of the sponsors a chance to be named on the away strip, we will be doing a similar draw this season for the back of the new home strip (details to follow).

Off the park this season, we will also be holding a weekly “Bonus Ball” raffle based on the National Lottery’s Saturday night draw where whoever picks the bonus ball number drawn that night will win a cash prize. There are still numbers available & anyone interested in purchasing a number for the season can contact secretary@sconethistlefc.org or anyone at the Club for further details. Last Saturday’s number was 29 with no winner so rolls over to this Saturday’s draw.
