Today Scone travel to Dundee to take on Lochee United in the newly named Signature Signs Cup at Thomson Park with a 2:30pm kick off. Previously named the GA Engineering Cup it was in this competition that the 2 sides last met back in 2014 when Lochee Utd were the defending champions. That day Scone were missing Captain Willie Laing who by some twist of fate is also missing this week as 1 of only 2 of the squad still at the Club. Ross Mitchell was also in the team on that day and scored on the way to a memorable 5-2 win but will unfortunately be unavailable today having picked up a strain last weekend, however manager Derek Lawson will be able to welcome back Gary Mackie & Fraser MacDonald to bolster a squad otherwise still missing a number of key players. Both sides will also be supporting this fortnight’s campaign “show racism the red card” before today’s kick off. For those unable to attend today’s game, coverage will be on our sister twitter account @jaggieslive and on the website available here from 2.15pm and we hope to bring you a match report & photo’s from the game over the weekend.
Off the park this week, Callum Cocker-Tough has signed for Coupar Angus AFC having previously played for the Under 19’s side there and all at the Club wish him well for the remainder of the season. Callum will still be training with the Juniors so we look forward to still seeing him around the Club but at Coupar he will be able to get some much needed game time.
