Luncarty – matchday preview

Saturday Scone travel to Brownlands Park to play Luncarty for the last game in Section 2 of the Consolation League Cup. With 3 teams in each section & playing each other home & away, Luncarty currently top the section having won the reverse of this fixture last month at Farquharson Park. Similar to the earlier rounds of the Thorntons Property East Region League Cup, Scone find themselves having to win by a large margin in the last group game to have any chance of progressing through to the next round, the current league table of section 2 is available here. To make a tough job harder, manager Derek Lawson has a number of players missing, Willie Laing is away for his stag do with some of the squad while the Mitchell Brothers & Darren Spence are also unavailable & Martin Strachan is doubtful due to injury. For those unable to make the match, coverage will be on our sister twitter account @jaggieslive and on the website available here from 2:15pm and we hope to bring you a match report & photo’s from the game over the coming days.

There is only 1 game in the Premier league North today with East Craigie away to Dundee North End. There were 3 midweek games which saw Coupar Angus narrowly lose to Forfar Albion 1-0 at Foxhall Park, Luncarty won 3-2 at home to Dundee North End while Kinnoull beat Lochee Harp 4-0 to go 3rd on goal difference.
